On January 26, 2018 I experienced a high grade ankle sprain. I have had an MRI and have been waiting to be evaluated by a surgeon. The 2 doctors I’ve seen, both had never heard of my injury. My physiotherapist also had never heard of it and has stopped all therapy. I’m worried, as time passes, that it is becoming worse. I’m noticing slight numbness in a couple of my toes now. I do wear a supportive brace, since my ankle is extremely unstable. I do not over tighten it, to cause the numbness. I’m lost and don’t know what to do.
My MRI report states that I have a hypertrophic partial tear of the anterior talofibular ligament with a tiny avulsion fracture inferior to the lateral malleolus and a longitudinal split tear of my Peroneal Brevis tendon.
