Suggest Nutritional Supplements For Lymphatic Leak
I had a lymphatic leak after donating my kidney. I was on IV TPN for 8 mon. and bedrest, with several paracentesis and two surgeries I am back on my feet, with my TPN they could not give me enough essential fatty acids. I now have needle-like pai. in hands and feet, my skin feels like it is bruised to touch. After prolonged use of my muscles I feel as if I walked up too many stairs. This is all getting worse .Is there something I could do nutritionally ? I really want to be more avtive. any suggestions? thankyou
Hello and welcome to HCM, Lymphatic leak causes loss of fatty acids. The loss is compensated by parenteral nutrition and giving essential fatty acids as you have been given. However, the symptoms that you are developing- needle like pain on hands and feet; bruising of skin and muscle fatigue after using the leg muscles signify problem at some other level. Bruising can occur due to abnormality of platelets, coagulation factors or vitamin K deficiency. Pain on hands and feet suggest a nerve related disorder. Muscle fatigue suggests musculoskeletal problem.
You need to consult a physician for relevant investigations and then management.
