Suggest Remedy For Urinary Retention Post Surgery

After bowel Cancer surgery July 20014, I am unable to empty my bladder properly, I now have to self cathertirize morning & night, Ive been prescribed a prophylactic to prevent bladder infection, which I had quite a few in the early days. I can pee some if I concentrate, but can t empty the bladder properly. I am keeping records of how much is cathertirized, and the amount doesn t seem to be decreasing by much over the last 6 months, Is there ANY HOPE of things returning to normal? ( 63yr old female)
