Suggest Treatment For Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis And Alpha 1 Deficiency

I have asthma, chronic bronchitis, alpha 1 deficiency and take weekly IGG infusions. My regular pulmonary doctor was out during a visit for a bad cough I have gotten in the last couple days. The attending physician prescribed me cheratussin ac syrup to help quell the cough so I can get some rest and hopefully breath easier when I lay down. I research all my new medications as I am on so many already and have been for years... Prednisone, albuterol tabs, nebulizor med and rescue inhaler, singular, spiriva. When I read the pamphlet that came with the new prescription it said should be used with caution or not at all for the asthma or bronchitis patient. What should I do now? I m really confused and don t want to end up in the hospital for taking/or not this cough syrup. Please help
