Hi doctor, my questions are regard to my sister age 63+. she has had esophagus achlasia since high school. various stretching and meds thru the years. the esophagus is now stretched over all major organs; heart, lungs, spleen, kidneys, etc. the surgeon wanted to do a transesphagual reconstructive surgery. after consulting with all specialists it was decided she wasn t in good enough physical shape to have this done. she had pneumonia 3 times since November. she now is scheduled for a hellar myotomy achalasia. which they think is less invasive and something she can live thu. can you tell me exactly what they will be doing?
