Greetings, Doctor,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I have chronic pain in my neck and lumbar spine. In June, 2014, I developed severe pain in my right arm/hand, and was diagnosed with a compressed nerve and bulging disc at C-8/T-1, just beneath one of my spinal fusions.
Now, I am experiencing numbness and tingling, even pain, in the thumb and first two fingers of my left hand. I also have painful, swollen joints in the fingers of both hands. One finger is 'swan-necked'.
In addition, I am chronically fatigued.
My concern is that I will lose so much function in my hands that I will be unable to work, and this frightens me! My pain management doctor told me that I need to have hand surgery. However, I understand that there is physical therapy available for the hands.
Please direct me to the care that I need to restore my hand function, and stop this tingling sensation.
