Suggest Ways To Manage Pain Due To Nerve Damage On One Side

My sister in law has nerve damage in her side and she is in constant pain. She has tried surgery, acupuncture, tub soaks, and hot showers. Nothing seems to be working and now she wants to try and get a nerve cut from her brain to make it just numb but, I am afraid that it might be too dangerous. Is there anything she could do to help with the pain but, not put her in any harms way?
