Hello doctor, my son has 7 years old, 20 kg weight and he is hyper active. Our consulting paediatrician recommended him to child development center, thiruvanamthapuram medical college. Where the therapist and doctor found him that he has ADHD problem and referred to the paediatric neurologist for medication. The doctor given Axepta 25 tab. Initial dosage is 1/4 for 8 days, 2/4 for 8 days, 3/4 for 8 days and full tab as continuing dose. And also asked to do C.T scan(brain) and SGPT blood test. When the second time we visited, dr. said that there is no problem in ct and blood test. So asked to do EEG and ultrasound scan. EEG result was fine. But doctor recommended Valparin Syrup 5 ml for morning and 7.5 ml for night plus tab axepta25mg 1daily. My doubt is that since he has no seizure related problems and no other health problems and fully active(in fact hyper active),studies well and creative, only restlessness is the main problem why this valparin syrup has been recommended for him?. Whether there is any problem if he takes the medicine? Kindly give advise for me.
