My daughter has been diagnosed by a geneticist with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Type III. My concern is that she has many of the facial features of Type four (for which there is a diagnostic test) she has very large, deepest eyes, a thin nose, thin lips, attached earlobes, veiny appearance of the chest, and she sleeps with her eyes open. In addition to these features, she also has abnormally small hands. They are about 2/3 the size of other 17 year olds. The fingertips also narrow toward the ends and she has extremely small fingernails. Do you think I should request genetic testing for Type IV Ehlers Danlos Syndrome for her?
