Hey there! A few weeks back I looked up at the eclipse. I did not stare at the sun but I did look at it as well as the sky when the clouds covered the sun. I knew not to stare at the sun but was unaware that looking at the sky was just as harmful. I saw sunspots and my eyes had trouble focusing that caused me to get dizzy. So, I took Motrin and stared wearing Acupressure bands. It seemed to clear things up. I ve seen my Optometrist three consecutive weeks and she said there is no permenant damage done. She also said that I was improving each week. After almost getting back to what I thought was normal I went on vacation for a weekend where I stayed up a little later and drove five hours both ways. The following week I was outside everyday with sunglasses on. Then I cut the grass one day and the sun reflecting off the side of my eyes was hurting my eyes and the pain hit me again. I became increasingly sensitive to light. I could not watch television, look at my phone, or focus on my computer. I d close my eyes with a eye mask on and a pillow over my head and it would be bright. Any light I looked at would stay with me. So, I repeated the process of Motrin and Acupressure bands while eliminating screen time and taking it easy. Someone suggested it could be a migraine and while Excederin helped, it did not seem to be the right solution. The sensitivity dramatically decreased. Then I went and saw an eye surgeon and after checking my eyes he said there was no physical damage to the eclipse and second what my Optometrist said about my retina being perfectly fine. He also said what I had was not a migraine but rather dry eyes and my issues would go away eventually by taking it easy, wearing sunglasses outside, and using Blink Tears. Furthermore, he said the eclipse had nothing to do with how I was feeling. However, while the light sensitivity has gone down it is still there. I also still experience lightheadedness, periods of being dizzy, loss of appetite, trouble focusing at times, and think I still see spots. I am constantly tired. I ve been searching for answers and hope you can help me as to how I can go see to fix this.
