Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH R.A - STARTED PLAQUENIL 4 DAY AGO - HAD DRY MOUTH SYMPTONS FOR 18 MONTHS - COULD BE SCHOGRENS BUT MAYBE NOT,. WITH PLAQUENIL DRY MOUTH HAS TRIPLED - I WAKE EVERY HALF HOUR AND AM SO SLEEP DEPRIVED IT S ALMOST WORSE THAN THE DISEASE. SHOULD I CONSIDER A DIFFERENT DRUG?
HI Well come to HCM Such dry mouth is not due to drug that is being taken and even not due to the Rheumatoid arthritis (If R.A stand for this) but such dry mouth could be due to some oral disease or lesion and this need to be ruled out some time this may be due to hyperacidity, some systemic disease also need to be ruled out like diabetic and it is really matter of concern, changing drug could not be the option of this, take care.
