What Causes Painful Bumps On The Vaginal Opening?

Hello, I went to the gyno on Wednesday about a few tiny pumps around the opening of my vagina, she said she believed it was herpes, but sent off a culture for the official results. For a few days it burned when the acidity of the urine hit them, however the pain is gone. They still remain, but are shrinking and not causing me anymore pain. My partner went to the doctor and they told him that his looked like folliculitis. If he doesn't have herpes then there is no way that I could. I have not had sexual contact with anyone else. PLEASE HELP
