What Causes Puffiness In Left Eye?

My left eye is puffy, I am on my second course of predisone, which decreased puffiness the first, not so much second time. Fam doc said no infection or pink eye. Girlfriend has a outdoor cat, but I am only there 2x week. Eye is white, but skin is puffy outside. What is this?
