What Causes Pus Filled Bump On Neck?

My son has a bump on his neck. It looks like a pimple with a black dot on it. We popped it and and it looks like a black head came out and the white puss. It's still has a black dot on it. Should I take him to the doctors. Or wait and see if it goes away.
