Hello, I have been trying to deal with intense facial pain and pressure in my head for 2.5 years. Seen a number of specialist and been diagnosed with degeneration in my tmj. I saw a maxillofacial surgeon that flushed out the joint for $2000 had no relief. Waiting to get into a pain clinic. the pain only affects the left side of my face and head. The left side of my tongue and nostril, lips, eye and along my teeth, jaw. It is a steady feeling of numbness and dull pressure ache that is followed by sharp more intense jabs many times throughout the day. I get relief when I am sleeping for the most part. Over the last few months the pain has run down my left side of neck, arm and even into my leg. I had an MRI that showed it was not MS or a tumor. I am currently on Cymbalta and oxycodone to try and get through the day. I am looking for any suggestions that may help or give me hope at least to be able to get by one day at a time. I sleep most of the time and have not been enjoying life very much at all. Please help me give me some ideas as to what could be causing this. I feel any doctors that I have seen do not understand the pain that I am dealing with.
