What Constitutes Overuse Of Ambien? I've Been Taking 5 Mg.

What constitutes overuse of Ambien? I've been taking 5 mg. of Ambien, at 4, 5, 6am as well as 5-10 mgs. at night. I am 74 yrs of age, in good health, but a often a terrible sleeper, 3-5 times per week, I go to bed at 10, wake up at 2-4 am, can't get back to sleep, and finally take Ambien, again, at 3, 4, 5am. I know i shouldn't be using it this way, but just want to get at least 7 or 8 hrs. sleep. I think I have become psychologically and maybe physically dependent/addicted. Of late, I am beginning to forget things which occur during the day. Your response?
