What Does An Indentation On Scalp Indicate?

I have developed an indentation on my scalp, its as though when you pinch you skin between your thumb and finger,,,, the indents start at the front of my scalp and go about half way up my scalp I have not bumped my scalp any ideas what this may be thanks
