I am a 53 year old female. When ever i move my neck it sounds like rice crispies. Recently I woke up with pain in my neck that progressed until noon, then subsiding a bit only to return in the evenings. It feels like I am wearing a cement collar, pain radiates down my arms sometimes, and down my spine other times, and into my shoulders other times. I am hla b27 positive, have severe bilateral sacrolitis and a family history of ankylosing spondylitis. I am not diagnosed, doctor blames hip fusion on child birth, even though I had debilitating sciatica since I was a teen. Is it normal for my age to have pain in my neck like this for no aparant reason? I fear my neck is fusing.
