What Does Presence Of Blood And Protein In Urine From Urinalysis Indicate?

I have had mild to moderate pain/discomfort on my left side (presumed kidney), that has waxed and waned but remained constant for almost four months. Antibiotics ruled out UTI, and kidney stone has been ruled out by CT and ultrasound. Urinalysis continues to show blood and protein in my urine and has been sent for cytology. I m currently waiting for a call back from a referral to see a urologist, but in the meantime, I m freaking out since nobody is able to provide any solid answers as to what it could be. No family history of kidney disease, I am a 43 year old female.
