every time after I eat I get pain in my lower right jaw. it doesn't matter if the food is hot, cold, or room temperature. the pain starts about 15 to 20 minutes after I finish eating and lasts about 10 minutes. I am 46, a smoker, and have great oral hygiene. although I have not been able to see a dentist in about 2 and 1/2 years I take excellent care of my teeth and have examined the area for any swelling and/or redness of which their is none. the pain is not like that of a cavity or abscess, it's more of an ache and has been going on for about 3 weeks. initially it started in the very back of the right mandible but has now moved up to the front just to the right of my jaw.
