Have Been Taking Medication For Hypertension For The Past 12

have been taking medication for hypertension for the past 12 years, recently my doc changed my meds to Losartan 2/50mg. daily. I have been on this now for about 6 months.

During this time I have on occasion suffered with water retention, mainly my left arm and foot, however, the past couple of months this has become a permanent condition in my arm and foot. When I wake in the morning I have my normal size ankle but by the time I leave for work they are considerably larger. As the day progresses, my foot becomes extremely swollen/puffy, very uncomfortable and on several occsions I have had to walk to my car in bare foot at the end of the day to avoid the pain and discomfort of wearing shoes. I hasten to add that sandals/flipflops have been a permanent fixture for me since this became a problem.

I avoid salt and drink pleny of water. I used to take regular exercise but I am finding this increasingly more and more difficult as my ankles are stiff, sometimes painful and my foot simply won't fit in my trainers!

I am 43, and feel my cute shoes are longer of any use. Summer is upon us and I cannot inflict my ankles on the general public...far too scary!!

Do you have any suggestions?
