i took my 22 month old girl to the neurophthamologist today, referred by our pediatrician who we saw earlier today. i noticed her left pupil larger yesterday after her nap, which I had never seen before, then thought I was just being paranoid mommy. then it happened several times this morning again, and a few of my friends were able to witness it too. My daughter said "owe" and pointed to her head this morning at breakfast, but she's 1 so not sure if that is significant or not. I called and took her into the pediatrician, who did some neuro tests, one of which the babinski. The doc seemed concerned that she did not respond appropriately to that test, and among other factors got us in to see the neuropthmaolgist today. Everything he saw was good and perfect he said. He mentioned a springing pupil and said he would have her back in a week to just make sure everything stays fine, but I think that was more of a courtesy than necessity. He was not able to witness the pupil variation, although my pediatrician and her nurse were able to witness it at their appt. My question is just to ease my mind, but is everything we did today thorough enough? I'm still concerned that the Babinski was off to the pediatrician, but I don't pretend to know more than the doc. Should I do anything more, or just accept what was found today? I'm fine with finding nothing, and not worrying....we just have brain tumors in our family history, so my sensitivity to the issue is heightened.
