My Aunt Is 95, Has Been In Reasonable Health And

my aunt is 95, has been in reasonable health and very sharp mentally, taking care of her finances etc. Recently she has become confused at times but more seriously misplaces things and believes someone is continuously breaking into her house. Is there an electrolyte imbalance or other condition that can cause a rather rapid onset of change in mental status? No change in physical function.
