Dear Altamash,
thanks for sending your query to us.
What we actually do in LASIK is that a partial thickness flap is cut from the cornea, which is hinged, this is raised and on the exposed surface laser is done.
Why i explained you the procedure is for you to understand the problems and then a decision is to be made for correction of refractory error.
In cases like your,1st problem is of adequate corneal thickness,so that a flap of proper thickness can be made out.
This is decided by a test for corneal thickness known as Pachymetery.
This test will primarily decide for you if you have adequate corneal thickness, then only you can think in terms of LASIK.
if the corneal thickness is not proper then two main type of surgeries to remove your power are
1)piggy back IOL where a lens of predetermined power is put in the eye over your normal lens.
2)Clear lens extraction with foldable lens implant
Here your normal lens is removed and another lens injected in the eye to replace it.
So every thig for you starts with Pachymetery,to decide if LASIK is feasible or not.
Place of surgery can be decided by you later on but first you have to get hold of a good corneal surgeon in your vicinity to have pachymetery to decide about further line of action
Please do get back to me incase you need any suggestion.
Thanks again
