Question: 1 week out from hip impingement/labral Tear surgery. 30min/day on a stationary bike is part of pt protocol. while on bike yesterday, I increased resistance to 5 and today is most uncomfortable day since surgery. 4 anchors/sutures were used to repair labrum. my question is, how what are the chances of undoing any of the anchor/sutures after a surgery like mine? thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Muscle stiffness more likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

Increasing the resistance puts more stress on the muscles and can cause muscle stiffness. If there was no sudden acute pain then any damage to the sutures is not likely. The sutures usually heal in 7-10 days.

The dull aching pain that you have can reduce on taking rest, avoiding the stress causing exercises, doing a hot compress and taking a mild pain killer.

I hope this answers your query.
