Question: 1st - I have severe anxiety And fear a heart attack. I went to the ER because I was having chest pain & tightness for the past three days and felt like I was Spaced out and when I went they did an EKG and the first EKG said abnormal but when they read it they said it wasn’t anything to worry about It was abnormal with nonspecific ST abnormality. They took blood all the blood work came back good the troponin was like .0015 is that considered negative? They did an EKG right before I left and it came back normal, but said normal compared to ecg performed earlier, so is it really normal? Does this sound like a heart problem I should worry about?

Brief Answer:
No it does not look like a heart issue

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome
This is Dr XXXXXXX cardiologist.
Peoples with axiety tend to have such kind of episodes with chest pain very frequently which comes out to be normal.
Chest tightness, inability to breath, palpitations are other symptoms.
But for such peoples you should always rule out any possible underlying heart disease. ECG and Trop are normal which suggests that you did not had a acute heart event at that time.
I would also suggest you to get a Tread Mill Test and 2D Echo done to rule out any future possibility of heart disease.
Thanks and take care

Brief Answer:
They are tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
ECG is the electrocardiogram you have attached along with.
Trop is Troponin, which is the blood test for diagnosis for the acute cardiac event.
Both are normal.
Thanks and take care

Brief Answer:
Yes they are normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
The attached EKG is absolutely normal.
The troponin report is also normal.
Get yourself a stress test done like Tread Mill or stress echo done to rule out any future possibility of getting a heart disease.
If it is also normal than their is nothing to worry from cardiac side.
If you have any more query, ill be happy to help.
Thanks and take care

Brief Answer:
No you dont need another one

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Having a normal stress test 1 month ago and with no other risk factor for coronary disease, you dont need any other stress test as of now.
But if the chest pain persists or occur another time, their is another better test - CT coronary angio (which will tell ypu with 100% confidence whether you have any heart disease - other stress tests have 75 -85% sensitivity, but are good enough for a person with no other risk factor) which can be done.
As of now you dont need that.
Thanks and take care.
