Question: 2 upper respiratory infections have left me with shortness of breath. Any time I do anything I have to rest ( 15 min. of lite work means 5 min. rest) then go do a little more. If I try to speed up it takes a longer recovery time. Asthma check was clear. 3 chest x-rays clear. 2 cat scans clear. I am overweight and had started on losing weight by food and exercise when all of this happened. I have been able to get slowly on that again and have lost 4lbs. and my metabolism is burning better where it was not before. Still, I have to be careful with the exercise and not overdo otherwise that causes me to get down and it takes days to recover, Any ideas what else to check for?

Brief Answer:
Get done detailed hormone levels.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the detailed history you have given.
Since all your reports are normal, in my opinion, you should get done detailed hormone levels.
Your age is 51 years and hormonal imbalance is more likely in this age.
Another possibility is stress and anxiety.
So please let me know
1. Do you have stressful life?
2. Are you taking any hormonal pills?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Progesterone cream for female issue which this helped along with Juleber tablet. Hormones were checked and all normal. The only stress in my life is my body not being able to get working right. It is very frustrating to be so slow. At my job they even found me a slower work pace. It is incredibly frustrating to feel good and then to get up and do something but only be able to last 15 minutes before needing to at least stop and rest. Is there anything else to check for?

Better to meet psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions.

Detailed Answer:

Sorry for late reply as I was busy.
If hormones are also normal, you should definitely meet psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
