2 Weeks Ago, I Woke Up With A Red, Swollen,

Question: 2 weeks ago, I woke up with a red, swollen, painful area just below the kneecap, toward outer area of leg. It was warm to touch. Ice and elevating helped, pain and swelling have gone away, but there is still a lump, that is more predominant when leg is slightly bent. When I wear heels it seems to increase the lump size, and I get a little pain at that point, but it goes back down to a painless lump within a day. Walking does not hurt it at all.

Hi there
Thanks for the query
Have you been k doing any kneeling activity recently?
Do you have fever or difficulty bending knee or walking?
This could be inflammation of the bursa around the knee called bursitis.
If possible to blood tests to rule out any serious infection like Complete blood count and CRP.
An xray of the knee will be helpful as well to make the diagnosis.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

No fever, it is not hot to touch anymore, all swelling is down, only hurts if I kneel on it or bump it. doesn't hurt to walk or run, but the lump is still there. THe lump does not hurt if I push on it,but again if I kneel or bump that area it hurts. Lump is a little below knee cap but to the outside, not directly below. When leg is straight the lump can barely be seen but if I bend the knee the lump protrodes out

Please get an xray knee. Apply cold compress over the knee. Take pain killers. You may need antibiotics so I suggest you visit the doctor.
