3 Weeks Of Stop Smoking Cold Turkey.. Heart Flutter Only
Was told it was normal.. I check my blood pressure slot.. It's around 123/83 most time..
Brief Answer:
Several issues.
Detailed Answer:
Good that you are stopping smoking.
While stopping cigarettes per se does not cause heart fluttering, the upset of nicotine withdrawal certainly could but mostly it causes psychological issues: hypervigilance so someone notices the palpitations we all have some of the time and being more easily upset by any abnormality that occurs.
If someone has intrusive thoughts or anxiety that is upsetting one's life there are several ways to fix that:
1) They have to start with being absolutely sure there is no real reason for the anxiety and so usually requires some heart evaluation such as a stress EKG or getting a few days of recorded heart rhythm to find the abnormal beats and determine that they are just the usual skip beats.
2) Sometimes someone has mitral valve prolapse which can trigger both anxieties and skip beats.
3) Then, after the ruling out of actual heart problems, getting antidepressants, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Although cannot say in your particular case, generally, it is quite unlikely that stopping cigarettes would cause more heart trouble than staying on them.
Regards

So a little flutter is normal.. If been healthy for the most part.. A month ago I had bloodwork and urine sample and CT scan all came back normal.. The flutter is very brief.. And I stay on my blood pressure every week. It's always around 123/84. Just 2 days ago I had a doc listen to my chest to make sure everything sounds OK too... I work outside and just don't want nothing like a stroke.. For the most part I feel great.. I hate the little flutter.. But everyone I talk to has them.. Like u said I just got more anxiety now that I'm stopped and notice it more
Brief Answer:
depends on the flutter and YES.
Detailed Answer:
Ok, so there are some ekg findings that would be a concern. If they show the wiring is just off then under some circumstances the heart stops or goes very fast.
BUT these are not brief. These show on the ekg.
AND, skip beats literally everybody has them. They are the same pattern if and when caught on the EKG, they do not go for countable seconds, they do not cause fainting. So... a long term electrical monitoring can really decide. The technology on that went from requiring carrying around 1 pound of tape recorder to having a few stickers on your chest and an app. Cheaper and hardly something you'd know you were wearing. It is called Holter Moniter.

Brief Answer:
That's good.
Detailed Answer:
Actually only 1 in 4 ever quit. Those who do typically fail about a half dozen times first. Fluttering increases for many (minor) reasons. Changes in sleep, caffeine intake are probably the most common. Changes in breathing can do that too. Cannot say in your particlar case.

My body is going thru changes while I guess healing it's self from years of smoking.. I guess the heart is a muscle.. And like all muscle's it's going to twitch and flutter.. Like I said since it stopped smoking for 3 weeks now I feel great. Blood pressure is down.. Chest is feeling better..
