Give paracetamol when the temperature rises.

I have gone carefully through your query. Your child possibly is suffering from urinary tract infection (UTI) which is causing the fever. Fever is usually associated with an elevated heart rate and can lead to convulsions.

Possibly the condition needs treatment with antibiotics and merely giving water might not suffice.

Ideally, a urine test is done first, prior to starting antibiotics. I understand that you have already taken the child to the hospital, but if possible, try elsewhere. If that is not feasible, you need not panic. I would suggest giving paracetamol to control the temperature, and to give the child plenty of ORS (oral rehydration solution) to drink.

Regards
