Hello!
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service!
I passed carefully through your question and would explain that the anemia is caused by fibroids.
But the anemia and fibroids do not explain the chest and back pain. For this reason, it is important performing some tests:
- a resting ECG and cardiac enzymes
- a chest X-ray study and D dimmer levels for possible pulmonary embolism
- an abdominal ultrasound or CT scan
- kidney and liver function tests
- PCR, ESR for inflammation or infection
- a urine analysis
- a urine bacterial culture
- a vaginal discharge bacterial culture.
If an infection is present ( endometritis) she may need to take IV antibiotics and blood thinners.
Antispasmodic drugs (dicyclomine, hyoscyamine, etc.) can help improve the pain too.
The anemia should be monitored each day if bleeding persists.
You should discuss this with her doctor on the above tests.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!
Kind regards,
