Question: 37 year old female known case of bilteral Retinitis Pigmentosa. On exam, VA 6/9, N6 both eyes. Heaviness and night blindness.IOC wnl. Please confirm the prognosis from the insurance company perspective and ongoing treatment.

At this outset, firstly please note that Retinitis Pigmentosa is primarily a genetic disorder and most of the time patients are born with it...

Now the prognosis and outcome can only be confirmed by an Ophthalmologist (preferably after a thorough check-up of the patient)...Since this is a specialized field, you can also utilize the 'Ask A Specialist' option in this forum and so that it gets attended by the Ophthalmologist only for further analysis...
