simple benign cyst of kidney - harmless condition,no worries.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the attachment of reports of ultrasound and x-ray chest.
* As there is mentioned a size of 1.6 cm simple cyst in kidney is a non
specific finding from clinical perspective so far as kidney size, shape, echo
texture and consistency are normal with that.
* This size simple cyst are common findings in day to day practice with
many of the consultants who have advised ultrasound for some other
problem.
* It is absolutely benign ( non cancer ) condition affecting kidney and
remain without any symptoms for long years together.
* Possible complications can be ( though very rare )
- increase in size
- pain over renal angle
- infection
- alteration in kidney function in advanced stage ( but usually that happens
with multiple large cysts only )
* My guidelines at present for your particular case and report evaluation
- do not panic for simple renal cyst of 1.6 cm size
- keep blood pressure and blood sugar under control
- drink plenty of liquids
- do regular ultrasound evaluation every 6 months to note the progress in
size of the cyst if any
- there are no medications of this issue and neither surgery is required in
any way for current issue
Hope this information will help you to understand better.
Do feel free to discuss further regarding the same.
Regards.
