7-year-old Son's Recurrent Coughing

I am writing to seek further advice regarding my 7-year-old son's recurrent coughing episodes. Since our relocation in August last year, he has been experiencing intermittent coughing, a condition we did not previously encounter The cough seems to resolve temporarily but recurs after a few days.
I have attached the prescription our housing colony's doctor provided for your reference. It's important to note that my son maintains a very controlled diet, consuming home-cooked meals exclusively, with minimal intake of sweets (no more than ten chocolates over his lifetime).
I am concerned that the environmental factors in may be contributing to his condition. Given this possibility, I am contemplating whether relocating to my native place, would be beneficial for his health, especially to avoid the continuous use of medications, which seem to offer only temporary relief.
Get him investigated please.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.I have read it &understood your concern.
Yes,apparently the problem seems to be allergic in origin..may be due to pollution by industries around Banglore. The symptoms seem to indicate allergic tendency of the child..
This can be evident in any of industrial areas &big city.
I would suggest you to get him investigated to confirm allergies &other factors like repeated infections (due to low resistance), worm infestations or skin lesions. This can be done by..
- Blood counts,
- allergy screening test
- stool examination
Please discuss these possibilities with his treating doctor &get the picture be clear with investigations...
After this you can think of changing his residence,if needful.
I hope I am clear in expressing my view&it is helpful to you.
Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
