Question: 72 female 5' 170 pounds. I have pretibial edema from Felodipine for moderately high BP. Don't tolerate Amlodipine.
I also have Cytochrome p 450 2D6 insufficiency and don't tolerate lots of meds like Beta blockers, Ace inhibitors.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I understand your concern and would recommend trying low dose of furosemide, which is a diuretic.

Another treatment option would be lercanidipine, which is a calcium channel blocker ( same family as amlodipine and felodipine), but may cause less leg swelling as an adverse effect.

You should discuss with your doctor on these treatment options.
