8 Weeks Post Colectomy . Can't Ejaculate, No More Even
Probably due to damaged nerves during the surger.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
This is most likely due to damaged nerves during the procedure. This leads to inability to trigger the sequence of events necessary for ejaculation. It could also be related to retrograde ejaculation. Was there any manipulation in the urinary tract or prostate related procedures? Generally, this will cause decreased seminal fluid production and/or backward flow.
In either case, a urologist consult is essential. This will allow for more detailed assessment. Also, it will be necessary for the surgeon to state the extent of surgery in the pelvis which appears to be the primary cause of this through damaged nerves.
I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me as you please.

Other than the catheter that was inserted post op for 36 hours or so. My primary care doctor thinks it may be trama from the over all surgery, but after 8 weeks I'm not buying it either. 8 weeks is a very long time to me. I'll be asking for a referral from her tomorrow after the usa holiday is over. I had about 5 incisions and laparoscopically about 6 inches of my colon was removed due to severe diverticulitis...around the distal sigmoid colon. If memory serves. This was on March 24th. I'm terrified that there is no solution or the solution will involve more surgery. I will seek the urologist for sure. Thanks for your feedback, and where ever you are located I hope you and your family are safe. XXXXXXX

Am based in New York at at this time. A urologist would be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You are absolutely right. 8weeks is a long time and we need answers to this. A urologist would be best placed person to address this. I recommend you take a report from the surgeon for their review as well.
Please, keep me updated!

Assuming this discussion stays open on this forum (I don't know the rules), I'll let you know. As I said in the beginning, I'm amazed at how few discussions or solutions I found online regarding this issue-or even that many people mentioned this is a problem. A few did. The conclusion was there was no fix.

We need to first explore before concluding!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is a very distressing situation. I understand your worries and and anxiety. I will however caution that we proceed progressively with a thorough evaluation before concluding. At least establishing the most probable cause is the main goal at this time and we will move on from there.
Even if this discussion were to be closed, you could always send a direct query to me to keep me updated.
