I can understand your concerns...

Well, on-off green stools over the past month need to be evaluated.

First of all, please look into her diet, try to find out if there's any recent inclusion of green leafy vegetables (eg. XXXXXXX spinach or even broccoli or green cabbage), if yes, then simply eliminating them, for now, would be a good idea. Even excessive laxatives and fibre supplements can cause them (good to know she's stopped them).

Another possibility is bile in the stool, which acts as an irritant and produces green colour in motion (semi-formed/loose).

If there are any other symptoms like: abdominal pain or cramping, poor appetite, bloating, change in bowel habits, gas or indigestion, nausea and vomiting, foul-smelling stool, mucus or undigested food in faeces-- it'll be better to get a stool routine analysis and culture sensitivity done as this may also indicate an ongoing infection (could be due to protozoal/bacterial). Based on the findings, necessary antibiotic/antiprotozoal therapy should be initiated. Along with it, Liver function test and serum Amylase, Lipase should also be checked.

Please discuss this with her doctor and proceed further.

Meanwhile, please ensure she drinks a lot of water, electrolyte-rich drinks (coconut water, Gatorade etc.).

Have simple home-made foods, avoid fast/processed foods, avoid refined sugar/sugary products. Take a probiotic daily (eg. Capsule VSL#3) for the time being.

Have yoghurt daily.

All these will help ease the symptoms and fasten the recovery process.
