A Doctor Prescribed Me Mobic For Tingling/carpal Tunnel Type Symptoms
I am hypertensive, so should I take Mobic or not? Also, will Mobic completely stop this or will it have to be taken everyday forever?
Yes it is risk of cardiovascular disease
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question Timgula. Hope I can be of help for you today. Through reading your query I would like to help you with this question. Mobic brand name generic name Nonesteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs) can cause an increased risk of cardiovascular thrombotic event, but this risk may occur early in treatment. There are contraindication to use this medicine if you have no history of coronary artery bypass surgery or any of heart disease or Gastroentestinal bleeding. Combination with your hypertension medicine lisinopril may result in a significant decrease in renal function. And also NSAIDs may diminish the antihypertensive effect of lisinopril. For carpal tunnel syndrome the may need to see physiotherapist and NSAIDs can help only for pain. To help Carpal tunnel syndrome long term physiotherapy by using wrist splinting or inject glucocorticoid. If not improve surgery is also the options.
I hope that can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or question about that, and I would be welcome to discuss it with you further.
Best regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician
