Question : A few weeks ago i was girge walking and hit my face against the water hard when jumping off a high ledge. I bruied my left eye and when looking at it closely later I noticed a very visible pulse in the corner orlf the socket where it meets the bridge of my nose. It is still visibly pulsing and inread online that there is an artery there calles the angular artery and that a visible pulse there can mean a blocked carotid artery? Im worried ive damaged it or there is a blockage somewhere. Im a 29 year old female.

The angular artery pulsation and internal carotid occlusion is not related to trauma and is seen in elderly people with conditions like atherosclerosis and embolism. It is also seen in patients with stroke or cerebrovascular attacks Angular artery or carotid injury is not commonly seen in blunt trauma. In some individuals, the arteries are more superficial and thus the pulsation becomes more visible. This might be the reason for the prominent angular pulse in your cases.

However, you can get it checked out by an ophthalmologist for reassurance.

Great, thank you, your response was very helpful. I%E2%80%99m just wondering if I should be concerned that the pulse is visible and stronger on one side than the other? is this normal?

Its quite normal, may be because one side is more superficial.

It’s not stroke.
Stroke is a disease if elderly and it presents with symptoms like weakness and slurring of speach.
If you are so much worried you can go for a test called MR angiogram where the entire blood vessels in your head and neck are visualised to look for any block or obstruction.
