Question: AS a follow up question regarding my son, he is also swishing fluids in his mouth. He says he can't inhibit doing it. Could this be related to my first question to you? I think it is a separate issue.

Hii. There may be many reasons to have excessive fluid in the mouth. It may be due to inflammation of the submandibular or parotid gland. It may be due to acid reflux from the stomach. It may be due to any sort of upper respiratory tract infection. So you need to consult an Ent surgeon and get a thorough check up. If needed you may have to do a nasal endoscopy, x ray sinus, a throat swab for culture and a laryngoscopy. Avoid too much spicy food, tea, coffee. Drink plenty of fluids. Sleep after two hours of dinner. Review if you have any queries.
