About 5 Weeks Ago Woke Up With Vertical Double Vision
Question: About 5 weeks ago woke up with vertical double vision. No other symptoms. Left eye image normal. Right eye image seemed to go “uphilll” from right to left. Learned this from toggling eyes.
Worsens as day progresses. Seemed to almost go away in morning and be getting generally better over time. I drive long distances and skied with it.
About a week ago I noticed difficulty eating and drinking due to inability to curl lips inward and right side chewing control. Also intermittent and not apparent to others. Had wetness at corners of mouth for at least a year now. Enough to dab with napkin and not just when eating.
Today I have ringing in right ear only. Have had this over the years.
No headache or other symptoms. Thank you.

I have glaucoma which is worse in right eye.
Brief Answer:
It sounds like a nerve involvement probably fourth
Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for the question . It sounds like a nerve paresis to me as you have vertical double vision and fourth nerve involvement can cause that . I cannot be sure till a proper examination of your eye movements is done. Usually nerve problems affect people with diabetes and hypertension . A brain MRI will shed further light as nerve course can be discerned . Your ringing could be an associated neurological issue too . Please consult a neurologist and an ophthalmologist to rule out these conditions . Hope it helps. Regards
