Question: About two weeks ago my left ear stopped up and felt full. I went to my local clinic and they said I had an outer ear canal infection and prescribed ciproflaxin ear drops 4 drops 2 times a day for 7 days. The stuffy feeling cleared in about 5 to 7 days but it still feeels full sometime. No pain no hearing loss. I can hear it pop sometime when I yawn or blown my nose. Is
There anything else I can do to help it clear up?

Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. it seems that you are having otitis external. You can start antibiotic tablet augmentin to reduce the inflammation for 1week. Start antiallergic tablet levocetrizine at bed time for 1 week. Preferably you need to put icthamol glycerin wick in the ear for at least 1 week which will decrease the oedema of the canal and help in faster healing. But that wick need to be inserted by ent surgeon. Take steam inhalation. Check your blood sugar and if raised take medication to control it. Don't put water in ear. Don't use ear buds. Hii. Augmentin is same as amoxycillin + clavulanic acid. If you are more than 50 kg take 1 gm twice daily or take 625 mg thrice daily.
