Advise Which Rotine Test Should I Do To Know If My Spine Has Some Problem And As My Age Is 40?

I fell down from bike when it got sleeped due to rain 1 year back, post that I had physiotherapy, shown to one orthopedic doctor and x -ray also done, im continuing calcium and vitamins B complex capsules regularly since 1 year, but now since 1 month getting more back pain.
Below is one of orthopedic specialist's comment that time here in Healthvcare magic.
" You definitely have lot of degenerative changes due to spondylosis. Avoid bending forwards or lifting weights. Avoid heavy activity. Perform physiotherapy regularly to strengthen the back muscles.
You must avoid fatty and spicy food. Avoid putting on weight because the more abdomen becomes fat, the more it will stress on your spine."
So pls advise which rotine test should I do to know if my spine has some problem and as my age is 40, and weight is 69 and height 5.3ft, so pls suggest how to reduce some weight like 5-10 kg, if possible. any kind of test I need to do like vitamin B12,calcium or radicals like arsenic etc, pls advise.
Please Get an MRI of L-S Spine
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through the details provided by you. Few facts:
1. You are 40 and slightly overweight.
2. You have degenerative changes in your spine.
3 You had slipped from motorcycle 1-year ago.- This is not very significant at present, so we shall forget it at present.
Degenerative changes at this age are very uncommon. It means that you have either misused your back muscles( putting abnormal strain) or you are suffering from one of the degenerative patterns which affect your spine at an early stage.
The overweight problem can be treated with diet, restriction- A Dietician will be the best person to guide about it, and physical exercises like walking.
The best investigation to assess the back is MRI. So I would recommend MRI for your back Assessment.
Calcium and vitamin B are required only if there is any deficiency. Normally no special food is required.
Again I would suggest only MRI at present.
Thanks for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
Thanks.
