What are the next steps to discover the root cause of the anemia that has been continuing to worsen for six months and resolve it?
Brief Answer:
Blood for iron profile test
Detailed Answer:
Hi
In order to come to root cause of anaemia you need to do blood for iron profile test
It includes total iron binding capacity test (TIBC) which measures the amount of iron ready to bind with proteins in the blood, serum ferritin test which is used to evaluate the amount of iron stored in the body and transferrin saturation test which is the percentage of transferrin which is saturated with iron.
As colonoscopy was good an upper GI endoscopy also recommended

Does the document IronStudyWithFerritin.pdf not provide this data?
Brief Answer:
Upper GI endoscopy and CT scan whole abdomen is required
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Yes it does
You have low iron saturation meaning you could have blood loss, inadequate dietary iron or anemia of chronic disease
That is why upper GI endoscopy and CT scan whole abdomen is required
You can take food such as chicken, fish, pasta, pumpkin seeds, beans, lentils, wholegrain, beans and lentils which are rich in iron.
