Antibiotic For Male Urinary Tract Infections?
Question: what antibiotic is prescribed for male urinary tract infections
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Urinary tract infection should be diagnosed before antibiotic treatment. There is a test, called urine culture test, which allows to determine which bacteria is causing the infection and what is the best antibiotic to eradicate it. This test is necessary because some bacteria are resistant to some antibiotic.
Most widely used antibiotics for urinary tract infection are Nitrofurantoin or Ciprofloxacin. However there are many other antibiotics used for urinary tract infection. Just note that doctors prescription is necessary for mentioned antibiotics.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards
