Brief Answer:
There is no need if testing after 2 years is negative

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. The maximum window period for HIV is 12 months and if your test result by chemiluminescence is non reactive then it is negative. Therefore you do not have any HIV infection right now.

2. Since the test you have done is conclusive and the probable exposure was 2 years back then there is no infection. You are safe and 5 tests have been done and report is always negative.

3. The laboratory testing methods use immunoassay technique to look for HIV antibodies. These antibodies are measured using numbers. Therefore there is a cut off beyond which the sample is suspected to be positive. These are accurate tests and in your test the cut off is 1.00. The cut off cannot be 0.00 because of small amount of cross reacting antibodies which are harmless and not associated with HIV will be there in the sample.

Hope your query is answered.

In hiv chemiluminescence ab/ag combo is non-reactive and value is 0.22.
In above test if it non-reactive means which ever the values below 1 is negligible.

So we should not consider the value if test is non-reactive.
Please answer above question.

Any update on above question.

Brief Answer:
Number does not matter as long it is below 1.0

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome back to HCM.

Thanks for writing back with an update.

In the above case any value less than 1.00 is not significant. Therefore if you have 0.22 then it is non reactive and the number does not matter.
