IPV is not related to the number and timings of oral polio vaccination
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nowadays IPV is available only in government setups. IPV is an injectable vaccine which can be given irrespective of the number and timings of oral polio vaccinations.
It helps in boosting the immunity and nowadays recommendation is to give both the oral and injectable polio vaccines to everyone.
The recommended timing of IPV is at 6,10 and 14 weeks of life but can be given in later age also.
You can go for IPV and two dosages will be needed at an interval of 2 months.
There is no known major adverse effect of IPV if there is apart from hypersensitivity which is rare.
Minor side effects can be related to the injection itself like swelling, redness etc.
