Brief Answer:
MRI is highly sensitive for spinal metastasis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

I have gone through your findings in detail.
MRI is the most sensitive and specific modality for imaging of spinal metastasis. It is even more sensitive than bone scan in diagnosing bony metastasis.
Contrast enhanced fat suppressed images help to differentiate metastasis from degenerative bone marrow.Diffusion weighted images distinguish metastasis from osteoporotic bone.
However,CT guided biopsy gives the final diagnosis.

The three treatment modalities mainly used for spinal metastases are chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. The goals of therapy are pain control and functional preservation.
However, radiotherapy remains the mainstay of therapy for metastatic spinal tumour.Radiation therapy is more effective in achieving pain control than surgery.
