Brief Answer:
Avoid steroid
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
This redness is it associated with discharge in the morning and with itching. If there is discharge in the morning then moxifloxicin is useful and we would like to avoid use of steroids as first line of treatment.
If there is itching then this is allergy and non steroid antiallergy drops are useful like oloptidine or epinastine drops do not contain steroids.
Oloptidine is available in the market as Olopat or olo eye drops.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for answering my Query. Yes sir, redness is associated with yellow discharge after sleep. very mild discharge only. Not sure about the itching. Since he is only five months old, it was little difficult to find. But he tries to rub his eyes once in a while. So assume it's probably because of itching.

Brief Answer:
Infection
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for getting back to us.
We have to control mild infection. The antibiotic of choice being moxifloxcin or Gentamycin eye drop.As we are not sure about itching then we are presuming this to be non allergic in nature.
Give these antibiotics 48 hours and see how child responds.
