Are P24 Antigen And HIV-1/2 Antibody Tests Done 28 Days Post Exposure Conclusive?

Question: Dear sir
I had a risky for unprotected intercourse with a csw.

After realising the mistake , around five days later I asked csw to get tested .

Test taken at
SRL lab XXXXXXX - combo -cmia -test-Non reactive

Further I also taken some test at.

P24 /Hiv1/2 Antibody combo test -Cmia at Dr Lal path lab

On 13 the day of exposure-Non reactive
On18th day of exposure -Non reactive
On 28 day of exposure-Non reactive
On 34th of exposure -Non reactive
All above test were combo- CMIA test taken at Dr.Lal path labs.

Please answer my query like.

1. M I HIV free or need more test.
I heard that combo test is conclusive after 28 days.
2.I don't have any symptoms except one day lower back pain.

3. Can I move on with my life now.

I have gone through your query. You are most likely free from HIV. You can move on with your life.
Combo test is more accurate after 28 days from exposure. But it can detect from 2nd week onwards. As you tested the CSW and yourself tested till 34 th day of exposure , you are most likely free from HIV. Just back ache is not specific for HIV. More test is not needed actually.

But CSW was tested on fifth day of exposure with combo test.

And I got test last on 34 the day of exposure at dr lal path lalbs.

My query are..
1.can I still move on.

2.how reliable is dr. Lal path labs report.

3.I have mild sore throat also like itching in throat.
4.while.combo test is 100% conclusive the why internet forum say to get tested on 2 or 3 or 6 months

Still WHO recommendation is to check again at 90 days.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

WHO recommends to test again at 90 days of exposure. The 4th generation test or DUO (Combo) test gives almost 95 t0 99 % accuracy. The combo test which tests both antigen and antibody. The antibody test gives 95% and antigen test gives 99 % conclusive. No one has reported becoming positive after this again at 90 days of exposure. The 6th month testing is recommended if you are following the old antibody testing.
Lal path lab is a major lab whose results are trustable. Sore throat can be of usual viral or bacterial infection. You can move on to your life.
But if still bothers you then repeat the test again at 90 days for assurance.

Dear Sir..
Thanks I am feeling quite better now.

But still I will repaet the test to be 100 % sure on 8 weeks and 12 weeks.

Please also suggest some good maodern antibody test.
Or can I reapaet the combo test on those duration.
Pls suggest

You can repeat the combo test for assurance, which is the best one available in XXXXXXX for antigen and antibody. This is the 4th generation test. 5th generation test is not available in XXXXXXX And there is no betterment in 5th generation test in finding HIV earlier than 4th. So no point in doing 5th.
